Heading back to Borrowdale today in search of Millican Dalton’s Cave – Castle Crag Borrowdale. I find places like this add an extra level of enthusiasm for the kids and spurs them on to get outside. Rather than just another boring walk somewhere it adds a certain level of intrigue and adventure.
The real plan for today was to climb up Castle Crag in Borrowdale but on arriving in the area I wasn’t confident I’d have the energy to make it there and back so Millican’s cave served as a backup plan and a good one at that.

Stopping off at the Bowder Stone as we enter into Borrowdale.

The kids quite pleased with being on top of the Bowder Stone.

Leaving Rosthwaite heading towards Castle Crag. Sheep Marking.

Lewis a little cautious of the Stepping Stones I found the other day.

Still Green…

I’d been promised the kids I was going to show them a beautiful pool for swimming. They were keen to try it out today but its far too cold, certainly one for warmer months.
