Ive been hoping to walk up Ballin Fell for years and for some reason it just hasn’t happened. I was determined to make it up there in 2016 and today was a good a day as any to give it a go. Ideally I’d make the summit early morning or later in the afternoon to catch the best of the light over the valley’s of Martindale and Boredale and Ullswter itself however to give myself the best chance of making it I am dictated by energy levels so a steady day is in order and we’ll see how it goes. Another fine start to the day around Skelwith Fold and fingers crossed for a good day of Landscape Photography from Hallin Fell.

Time to go. Some fantastic views up here and well worth the short walk form St Peter’s Church in Martindale.

A short drive into Martindale to visit the beautiful little St Martin’s Church. It is often referred to as the “Old Church” There has been a place of worship here from 1220 apparently. You can find out more about this fascinating building here on Wikipedia.

A more recent building and forever a classic Lakeland Scene. The Duke of Portland Boathouse on Ullswater.

A quick stop in Glenridding in hope of some interesting light before the days end. Here is Place Fell over Ullwater.

You can see my collection of Lake District Landscape Prints from around Ullswater here in my gallery.
