In my new attempts to spend more time in the Borrowdale Valley I’m hoping to cover the area from Rosthwaite back up to Dalt Quarry below Grange where I have previously explored. See here. Here’s what caught my eye on a Landscape Photography Walk in Borrowdale.
The River Derwent that flows through the bottom of The Borrowdale Valley is, in places lined with Oak Trees and I am certain this location will provide for some interesting Autumnal scenes. Heading out of Rosthwaite towards Castle Crag, the kids will love these Stepping Stones.
A great view down the River Derwent. A little more Autumnal colour would make for a great scene here.

Gaining some height reveals the openness of the Borrowdale Valley.
Back on the main path now. Time to go as energy is running low and there’s a good walk back yet. Here’s the entrance to an interesting looking cave. Again the kids will love this, I’ll have to bring them back here over Half Term next week.
A quick visit to Surprise View on my way home. Still no sign of any light breaking through today….
The Islands have changed colour since my previous visit.
