The Borrowdale Valley has been a place I’ve usually passed through on my way to or from Buttermere. It was about time I had a wander around and see what there is. Many years ago I saw a photo of an old Quarry in Borrowdale and I’ve been meaning to visit for years. I remember seeing stripes of colour, sulphur I think, staining the quarry walls and those years ago i thought that would make a fine photographic print. So much so in fact it inspired me to create a series of images just of these Quarry walls. The old industrial Landscape that employed generations in the Lake District. Im part way through this personal project and so far I’ve managed to visit Dalt Quarry here in Borrowdale, Hodge Close and Tilberthwaite. Progress isn’t as quick as I’d like but I’ll get there, for now I hope you enjoy these images from Borrowdale.
