The Retreat Revisited

Revisiting some old photos from 2007 when I walked from Buttermere unto Haystacks and along the High Stile Ridge. You can see my original post here.

Warn scale Bottom with Buttermere in the distance.

Ascending up Warnscale. Fleet with Pike on the right.

High Crag on the left.

Some unseen images of the Retreat. I took these on the 7th April 2007. It’s only taken me 8 and half years to show these.

It was a total surprise to find this building, I didn’t know it existed until I stumbled upon it.

Buttermere and Crummock Water in the distance.

The view from Green Crag.

Below is original print I released from this shoot back in 2009, I called this print The Mining Hut.

A few years later I revisited my images from that day and released this image below. I became known as The Retreat.

At the same time I released a panoramic print of The Retreat including the wider landscape around the retreat.

It’s been great to relive this walk and these photos. If you’d like a print of any of these images feel free to contact me. Click here to see my current range of Lake District Prints from Buttermere.
