It’s so hard to choose a favourite view in the Lakes as there are so many beautiful locations. So I’ve put together a list of the Top 10 views in the Lake District, based on the popularity of photos in my online shop in 2021.
1) Buttermere View
An iconic shot of Buttermere Lake in the northern Lake District looking towards Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks. Buttermere has been voted by the public as having one of the best views in Britain.

2) Golden Wastwater
Wastwater in the quieter western Lake District is England’s deepest lake. The mountains surrounding Wastwater include Red Pike, Kirk Fell, Great Gable and England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike. Wastwater was voted as Britain’s Favourite View by the ITV series of the same name in 2007. This view shows the summer light illuminating the fells above Wastwater.

3) Autumn on the River
Autumn on the River showcases the vivid, beautiful trees on the River Esk in the Lake District on a gorgeous autumn day. The River Esk (also known as the Cumbrian Esk) flows for approximately 25 km (15.5 miles) from its source in the Scafell range of mountains to its estuary at Ravenglass. It runs through stunning scenery from its source all the way to the sea.

4) The Retreat
The Retreat showcases another view over Buttermere from Warnscale Bothy. Situated at Warnscale Top on the ascent to Haystacks in the English Lake District. The bothy was built in about 1860 and you can still stay overnight. As featured in John Lewis.
