Thirlmere, a place I have visited many times over the last year or two. Before then Thirlmere was one of those locations I’d pass by whilst heading to other locations for landscape photography in the Lake District. With the aftermath of last years Storm Desmond, Thirlmere has been out of reach for me for the early part of this year. Today I’m happy to spend some time here again and see what I see. Landscape Photography for me can often be most rewarding when I have no preconceived idea of what I’m going to capture and what I’ll witness. Today was such a day. A leisurely photographic wander at Thirlmere.

Through the trees towards Lower Man.

By the car park with Raven Crag towering above.

A clearer view over Thirlmere

From the West side of Thirlmere the ground steeply rises up and is dense with trees. Still very green here too.

Looking back to the Dam.

A Roe Deer in the centre of the shot. I wasn’t quick enough top capture her two young ones, Fawn I believe they are called. They can’t of been much bigger than a Labrador. Shame I didn’t have my longer Zoom lens. I love seeing Deer, they are very gracious in my opinion. Check out this post when I can me face to face with a Roe Deer here previously.

Gone, no way of seeing them again.

Zooming in on Raven Crag. I’d love to be up there…

Some color around the Dam

Berries everytwhere bringing a splash of colour.

The Ferns have well and truly turned Autumnal

That’s it from Thirlmere for now. It has been great to be out regardless of what I’ve captured.
