A month or so after my first formal Landscape Photography shoot at Thirlmere I made this visit with a view to explore a little more of this area and see how the water levels were after the long drought in the area.

Great evening light on Lower Man above Thirlmere.

Browncove Crags on Lower Man above Thirlmere.
As I walked through the woods to the waters edge I caught sight of this beautiful looking Deer having her supper in the woods.
I stopped and watched for a while. She didn’t seem bothered I was there.
What a fine looking animal.

Beautiful.

Intrigued. I wish the boys had of been with me to see her.

Continuing through the woods.

Heading down to the waters edge, wherever that maybe.
The extent of the drought makes this small Island accessible on foot. The Island is ironically called Deergarth How Island.

I’d be underwater here if the water levels were at their usual levels.
Making my way onto the Island, there is a small patch but everywhere is very overgrown.
This is the view from the far side of the Island looking over to the Helvellyn range. Should make for some unique images.

The water is extremely low. I should be underwater here.

Cockrigg Crags I believe.

The Clough Head over the Dam, an improvement on my last shot of this scene maybe.
