It’s not been long since my last visit to Slaters Bridge here in Little Langdale. My previous visit was at the end of the day as I hoped to catch the golden light at the end of the day in Lingmoor in the distance. After my first shoot it was obvious that the best of the light from the composition I like best would be in the early morning.
I headed out just before sunrise to see how things unfolded…

A cool start to the day in Little Langdale…

Glimpses of the sun on the distant fells, Wetherlam I believe…

The first frost of the year.

Heading down to Slaters Bridge with Wetherlam above.

First sighting of Slaters Bridge

Mist in the Valley over the outlet to Little Langdale Tarn. A Hardwick stands by the gap in the wall.

Morning.

Mist ove the water. Beautiful.

Lingmoor above Little Langdale Tarn with the first warming light of the day.

The ancient Slaters Bridge.

A guy sits on the hill looking down into Little Langdale.

As the sun lifts in the sky the Mist evaporates.

Delicate grasses standing up to the first frost.

Spider webs are everywhere throughout the grass.

Heading home…

I saw this little guy on the path as I walked home, poor fellow was too cold to move, I hope he gets somewhere safely.
Here are some of my favourite photographs I made this morning.

This is my favourite composition of this scene.

and a wider perspective taking in the stream as it flows under and away from Slaters Bridge

Lingmoor Fell above Slaters Bridge. I love how the bridge merges seamlessly into the wall across the image.

Lingmoor Fell form Slaters Bridge.

A mist free stream now the sun has risen.
Thanks for looking, you can see a selection of my Slaters Bridge photographs that are now available as high quality prints here.
