I recall visiting Slaters Bridge and Cathedral Caves in Little Langdale when I was a child, but don’t have all that good a memory of the details. This time I was taking my own Children.

Busk Pike on Lingmoor Fell over a polarised outlet of Little Langdale Tarn.

Slaters Bridge

I tried to use the bank of the river to lead into the scene, quite often however the bridge is photographed from the others side.

A more pleasing composition from the other side of the bridge. Aided by the position of the sun and the drystone wall leading up to Lingmoor Fell.

I really need to come here again in the early morning.

It is a great location and one that is helped photographically by the elements in the Landscape that make for good composition.

I think for an initial scouting out there is loads of potential with this location. I hope to visit here again with interesting weather which should make for an interesting print. Onwards now to the caves.

Inside Cathedral Cave. The contrast on the walls was great for a Black & White image.

The main column of rock reflected in the Cave.

It really is a sight to behold.

I was really drawn to this scene. The Black & White tone really appeals to me in this image.

An ultra wide angle lens reveals the scale and detail within this scene.

Back to the Bridge. It was pretty busy now so I took some close up shots to cut out the people.

Certainly a great location for photography and one worth visiting with kids as the Cave is great.
