Little Langdale Oak – Shoot 1

I’ve photographed this lone Oak Tree a few times previously usually in my way over Wrynose Pass towards the Western Lake District. Seeing it again today made me think I should make the effort to make this the destination and not just a stop whilst passing.

There’s a lot going for this location in terms of Landscape Photography. I’m a big fan of the lone tree composition and quite often seek out interesting trees on their own. Typically I’ve shot this tree from below and tried to isolate the tree from the fells in the distance.

Today I spent a few moments wandering around the landscape and looking for another composition. The image at the top of this post really caught my eye, it doesn’t necessarily focus on the tree itself, more the wider landscape. I’m coming back here to re take this composition in different conditions as i believe there is a nice image with the right conditions.
