I have a large back catalog of Lake District Landscapes but I don’t have many Photographs of Grasmere in the Snow. Today saw my chance to witness this beautiful part of the Lake District in a Winter covering of beautiful white snow. Its taken me a while to see snow in the Lake District from my base at Skelwith Fold. Hopefully today will give me the opportunity to capture some of those inspiring Winter scenes of this beautiful landscape.
The view out of my front door was encouraging and I headed out for a short walk to the viewpoint.

It was great to see a white scene on familiar scene.
Photographs of Grasmere in the Snow

I headed out to Grasmere with a short walk through Penny Rock Woods.

A collection of Silver Birch trees.

As I got closer to Grasmere it started raining unfortunately. However I was here and there was plenty of snow around to make some great photographs. Here’s a Black & White image of an interesting tree.

Not much of a view over the water so I made images of the branches reflecting in the water.

Looking back over Grasmere where Loughrigg meets Grasmere.
