Crosby Beach – Permitted Exercise

We’re now half way through December and I’ve spent about 6 weeks visiting the beach with my camera. After my Autumn shoots in the Lakes I didn’t want the momentum to fade so embarked upon my daily walks. At first I wasn’t all that inspired. I’ve been here millions of times, what can I possibly photograph that I haven’t already? Well I’m actually quiet surprised how things have turned out. I’ve got into this and as such I’m creating what I consider to be my most pleasing images of the Beach in the whole time Ive been coming here. Seeing this place change each day has got me hooked. The weather, the patterns on the sand, how the dunes rise and fall. Walking their each day I’ve had, dare I say it pangs of excitement. Some days it works out, others not so much but collectively I’m building up a story. A body of work that defines a period of time. Lockdown in the UK. These simple, short walks have been my saviour in Lock down and as I’ve connected more and more with the beach I’ve leant the simple act of getting out and working towards something has been immensely powerful for me.
