Over the last year or so I’ve had my eye on this certain stretch of River locally to me. Where the river Alt meets the Irish Sea at Crosby is a fascinating spot to me, the river meanders its way through the sand of Crosby Beach and makes its way into the Irish Sea. I have shot this scene before in the summer months and concluded Id need to wait until Winter where the sun is positioned further along the horizon and offering me some side light. If I can time this with a lower tide I can see the curves in the river as the Alt makes its way to the Sea. I feel these photographs work in terms of composition and lighting and certainly a scene to return to as the light varies.
I shouldn’t overlook the images I made on the beach on my way to the River Alt as they too are very pleasing to me.
