London with the Leica Q – Day 1

It’s been about 20 years since I last visited London. Not being one for crowds and enclosed spaces London is not a place I tend to be drawn too. However for a while now we’ve been promising the kids a visit to see the sights and part of me is interested in the architecture, place and atmosphere. So February half term and we decided to go for it. Street Photography with the Leica Q in London.

Here are the photographs I captured on day 1 of my three days in London. I had no agenda photographically speaking just to see how we got on and what I saw. I took one camera on this trip. My Leica Q and it was a total joy to use throughout the trip. I’m really pleased with how the images have turned out.

If you get the chance to visit London, make sure you take a camera as inspiration is around every corner.

Ironic as this is how I feel about Trains.

Here we go. They are narrower than I remember. *Gulp*

Lewis was amazed to learn there are toilets onboard…

His first long train journey. Fascinating watching the world pass by.

 Sushi for lunch.

Thomas looking pleased with himself on the Tube.

 Surfacing at London Bridge.

My first sight of the Shard, what an amazing achievement.

 Great Architecture everywhere.

Borough Market. An explosion of sounds, smells and faces form all over the world.

The Globe Theatre.

 Millenium Bridge.

St Paul’s Cathedral over Millennium Bridge.

Waterlilly’s

One of my favourite images form today.

I recognise that Man. Anthony Gorlmey.

I loe this image. How the lady is looking back…

 Family shot.

 London Water

Probably my favourite shot of the year so far. Memories are made of moments like this.

That’s it for Day 1. A thoroughly enjoyable experience so far. I’m looking forward to exploring more of this fine City tomorrow.

I’ve made a small selection of my London Photographs available for purchase here in my online gallery.
