Today has been a challenge with my ME/CFS so much so that I spent most of the day in bed. I decided to get up at 7pm and head out for the last hour of daylight in the hope I could achieve something positive. I set off with no plan, no location in mind and by default I ended up at Thirlmere. Maybe it’s programmed in to me from my year spent here a while back, or perhaps it’s because I know nobody else will be here and it’s just a short walk from the car with the last of the days light illuminating Lower Man over Thirlmere. Whatever the reason I’m glad I made the effort.
All I hoped to achieve tonight was to feel fresh air in my lungs and look at something pleasing. Photographically, I’ve taken this shot many many times previously. Tonight won’t be my best effort but as I say in my blogs it’s worth practising. I am a big fan of vistas, foreground interest and the golden hour of light at the end of the day. This location is great for all those. In this series of images I experiment with a few arrangements to see which works best…
