Mist and Tree

Another Misty morning and another fine example of how simple objects can be transformed into the feature of an image when there is no view to speak of. Or to see. Trees need Mist to separate them form the background and draw our eyes to focus totally on the detail of the subject. Without Mist this scene is too complicated and doesn’t work. These Lake District mornings where mist lingers are great time to make simple images that pack a punch. Again Ive captured a variety of compositions to see which works best….

For me the final image is my favourite. Initially I hoped to capture both trees, the one in the foreground and the faded out one in the distance. Upon reviewing these images I decided the singular tree makes for a cleaner image and that works best for me. Just moving a few steps to one side I was able to recompose and improve the image. Just goes to show that these little tweaks we make have a huge impact on the final outcome of the image. I also think the slight increase in exposure/brightness of the last image makes for a more aesthetically pleasing image.
