Loughrigg Fell

I’m very lucky here in the Lake District as my front window looks out onto Loughrigg Fell so I get to enjoy a view of this pretty little fell all the time, recently I’ve been thinking it’s time I got myself up there again. So Easter Half Term holidays I thought it’d be a great start to the holidays to get the kids up there and take in some of the spectacular views afforded of Ambleside, Windermere and the surrounding fells from such a modest walk.

If you’ve walked up Loughrigg you’ll know the top of the Fell is quite large and spreads its way between Ambleside and the Southern end of Grasmere. Today I set myself a simple goal of just getting up there and visiting the stile over the wall above Windermere. As it’s my first walk with an incline in months I didn’t want to over do it and regret it so here’s how we got on with a quick and brief visit to Loughrigg Fell.
