Now that my Lake District Landscape Photography has come to an end for this year due to lockdown in the UK I am resigned to my local area for the coming weeks/months. It’s a chance to reconnect with my local Landscape. Over the next few weeks I’ll be heading out on my daily walks to Crosby Beach with a hope of capturing more images of this wonderful West facing beach. The addition of the Iron Men add a very strong graphical element to this Landscape and I am hoping to develop my range of Landscape Photographs from the Beach over the Winter. Unlike the Lake District Landscape there are no real seasons at the Beach. However one thing Crosby Beach has over the Lake District is a Horizon where you can witness the sunset. This along with the changing sands make for a variety of photographic opportunities.
I’m writing this blog post in January 2021, 2 months after I made these images and while I could write something here that makes me look like I can predict the future I can honestly say that the coming weeks of daily exercise have given me a real chance to reconnect with this place. I have walked down here almost daily for as long as I can remember but the weeks that follow have been photographically my most productive, I aren’t sure if that’s on the back of my 40 odd days in the Lake District and I’m really on it photographically so to speak now or if it’s the lockdown that has focused my attention so acutely. Any way here is my first post of a series of Lockdown visits to Crosby Beach.
