River Brathay Shoot

The River Brathay is the closest river to me in the Lake District and one I enjoy visiting by the Brathay Church, also further up river by Skelwith Bridge below Elterwater. The river start by the Three Shires stone high up on Wrynose Pass. I believe the world Brathay comes form an old Norse word meaning Broad. The River is a popular destination for Canoeing and Kayaking in the Lake District.

The last of the Autumn colours above the Brathay.

A long exposure and use of a Polarising filter reveals the bed of the River Brathay.

Mist suddenly appear over the river as I ventured down river a little to get the Brathay Bridge in shot.

A peaceful spot.

A wider perspective on the Bridge, the Church is directly behind the trees next to the bridge.

I’ll try and visit again in the middle of Autumn.

Thanks for looking.
