Bluebells over Grasmere

There always seems to be a lot of interest in photographing bluebells in the Lake District. I’m not overly bothered by this trend, although I can appreciate the skill required to capture a good Bluebell or any floral shot. For me the best Bluebell shots are those taken in a misty, tidy woodland in the early hours with the sun bursting through the trees. I’ve not managed to find such a location like this in the Lake District, even if I did I’m not sure I’d rush there to capture it as it would no doubt be full of photographers all taking the same composition.

On Loughrigg terrace above Grasmere there is a nice collection of Bluebells with the added benefit of an interesting backdrop. Me and the kids went for a wander and this is what we found.

More of a general shot that happens to have some Bluebells.

It’s such a great vista from here.

Give me light like this any day rather than Bluebells.

They need to work on their smiles. I take so many photos of them it’s become a bit of a joke to over egg the smile.

I made this short video whilst we lay in the Bluebells.

Here are some of the shots Thomas captured with the Sony RX100M3.

Nice shot Thomas.

I am very lucky…

hmmm…

Behind the scenes…

Well spotted Thomas….
