On the back of my recent visits to Hodge Close, I wanted to have a wander up Holme Fell which rises up from the main Quarry at Hodge Close. I’ve never been up this way before but have seen and heard positives things about this area so I took the time to take a look. Here’s what I saw.

The Langdale Pikes over further disused quarry workings and Lingmoor Fell.

Heading up to Holme Fell.

Lewis is keen to get there first, while I was struggling with the incline…

Still all very green around here.

A casualty of a past storm no doubt.

A small body of water, the OS map suggests this maybe a reservoir, maybe it served the Quarry in years gone by.

Thomas taking a moment to reflect…

It was very still up here.

Some signs of Autumn.

Back at the Quarry.

A visit to Hodge Close isn’t complete without a visit to this tree.

Little Langdale, the houses you can see are by the Three Shires Inn.

Tree and Boulder.

Trying out my wide angle lens for a change.

Sapling.
