Grasmere early Autumn Landscape Photography

Where to go? that is one of the questions I keep on asking myself. Spoilt for choice, like a child in a sweet shop. Well tonight I was later heading out than I’d of hoped so stayed relatively local heading into the woodland surrounding Grasmere. The light wasn’t all that dynamic so I didn’t stay long, moving on to the water’s edge, just enjoying being outside. It really is a privilege to be out and taking in these wonderful views.

On my walk back unnoticed a Heron flying low over Grasmere, it landed close to me so I made my way through the bushes to try and get closer. It flew off, however, it landed in a much better location for me to see him properly so I set up and made a few images. Ironically he landed on the same stone as the image in my latest book Capture Lakeland Volume 2 where I photographed 2 sleeping swans.

All in all great to be out and excited about the prospect of Autumn. I’m hoping to be out a lot now over the coming days and weeks and hopefully I’ll see autumn through with no lockdown issues preventing me making new images. Fingers crossed. I’m hopefully I can make up for loosing spring with a fruitful autumn.

You can see my current range of framed Landscape Photography prints from Grasmere here in my gallery. As with all my blogs every image showcased here is also available as a gallery quality framed print. Please contact me for details.
