The wonderful unspoilt and quiet Kentmere Valley in the southern Lake District with Lakeland Fells of Ill Bell, Froswick, Thornthwaite Crag and Mardale Ill Bell above Kentmere reservoir at the head of the valley. A Portrait version of this print is also available.

A derelict Shepherds Hut on the Old Corpse Road between Mardale and Shap. The Old Village of Mardale was flooded to create what is now Haweswater Reservoir as seen here. I can only imagine what changes this Hut has seen over the generations. The name Corpse Road is used across the Lake District along with Coffin Route. Some people say this hut may have been used as a resting place for coffins on their final journey out of Mardale...
