James is a brilliant landscape photographer!

His photos all manage to have a vary natural look, without the use of strong colour filters or starburst filters (which I personally do not like). He has a natural eye for what makes photos stand out, but then again; he is lucky to have such a wonderful landscape on his doorstep!

The 2022 Lake District Calendar is smaller than the 2021 calendar, but there are no quibbles about the quality of the photographs, which are all beautiful and guaranteed to give me great pleasure as the 2022 year rolls on... I particularly like those of Helvellyn, Borrowdale Birch and Buttermere. I stocked up again on A4 prints, which were very well received last year when I sent them for special occasions, but I am also glad to have purchased this year a set of postcards, which are perfect for quick messages and a nice size. Delivery was very prompt - my order was despatched within 24 hours of placing my order and the package arrived in perfect condition. Beautiful 2022 Lake District calendar. Many of the images have been taken with a longer than normal focal length lens which just goes to show you don't have to use a wide angle for effective intimate landscapes. There are a few that have been taken with a very wide angle adding to the variety. Well worth the purchase.

A delightful Calendar that is a joy to view!

It was a delight to receive James Bell's 2021 Calendar. It's filled with many great images of the Lake District in the various seasons. It went straight up on the kitchen wall and I view it longingly every day wishing that I could get back there again, It's like having a page of one of his books on the wall, and encourages you to the bookcase and dip into them again to get a good fill of wonderful views. It was also nice to receive an A4 print of Blea Tarn (a favourite of mine). That will be framed shortly.

I'm trying to attach a paragraph from my Friend Pat in Canada which I think you should see. She just wrote to me expressing her thanks for the 2021 Calendar which she hasn't opened yet. She only ever opens them on the 1st Jan. because she doesn't want to spoil the anticipation. She doesn't even look at the following months either, but only when the 1st of the month actually arrives. She left England in the late 50's to teach at Vancouver Uni. and lives on Eagle Island just off the coast. She is now 86 or so, and punts to the mainland where she keeps her car. No roads on the island! I will now try to attach her message for you:- Couldn't manage it, but have typed it out for you - to the letter - promise!

'Been meaning to say that my lovely James Bell calendar sits untouched waiting for New Year's Day! If you ever talk with James, tell him his wonderfully evocative photographs carried me through a strange and mixed emotional year with peace and tranquility. I own both of James' books and have just bought the calendar for next year. As always, James work is superb. The standard of the photography is fantastic and his photos evoke not just the views of the Lakes, but also the feel of them too. Living there, he knows the lakes and fells well and this really comes over in his work. The standard of the printing is top notch and he takes great care in making sure everything is up to the same standard and showcases his beautiful pictures. The order came wrapped in lovely Herdwick printed paper and so would make a lovely gift for someone sent directly via order. It arrived quickly and was sturdily packaged. Overall very happy and I would (and have) buy from James again.

James Bell Photography Calendar 2019 review…

Received my 2019 calendar and not surprisingly the standard is first class. I love the photos he takes with each matching the particular month. For me my favourite has to be the June one. I love looking at the Langdales each year when i am in the area and it is the month my husband and I visit for a few days. James is a very talented photographer and I particularly like his style and interpretation of the scenes in front of his camera. Well worth buying and I have previously purchased his Lakeland collection of photos which does not disappoint either.

Firstly thank you for sending me a copy of your calendar for 2017. I have on my wall a copy of your picture taken of a tree in Ullswater which was sold via John Lewis. I know that view well as it is just outside Glenridding on the way to Pooley Bridge. You may be surprised to know that the calendar I ordered was a gift for Chef Galton Blackiston. He was kind enough to spend some time with my wife and I when we stayed at his hotel in Morston, Norfolk. Why send him a calendar of the Lake District? His days as a Chef started at Miller Howe with John Tovey. John Tovey was one of the first celebrity Chefs to appear on television. He has retired to South Africa and lives in a retirement village in Cape Town. Galton wrote to me on receipt of your calendar and described it as a beautiful reminder of some happy times.

Excellent 2017 Calendar

Yes once again I love your 2017 calendar - it hasn't disappointed. My particular favourites are the April one of Winderdermere from Loughrigg Fell and the June one with the sun's rays catching the Langdales. I love looking at the Langdales, they stand out for me as a landmark in the area.
I look forward to using the 2017 calendar reminding me of the places we go to every year. Roll on next June!!

2016 Lake District Calendar

I am very happy with the calendar and with the card inside and with the efficient service - like many people, I expect, I became aware of your work through John Lewis. The picture of the bothy makes me ache to be there. And as I couldn't afford the picture at the moment, I decided to go for the calendar instead. I received my calendar for 2016 yesterday. Already I am loving it. My favourite months have to be May and December as I love Grasmere and the Langdale Pikes. We have spent a few days in Ambleside for the past 12 years in September and the scenery there never fails to delight. James has captured the very essence of the Lake District in his photographs. I have it on the wall by my computer and can look the photographs any time I wish which somewhat speeds up the time till we return again although we have booked for next June to celebrate a special birthday for my husband. The service has been excellent - we are advised when they are available and again when they are due to be sent out so it is no surprise when the postman rings our door bell with the large white envelope in his hand. We have been receiving the calendar for the past few years and my greatest loves are water and hills which I am fortunate to have in plenty at home near the Pennines in Yorkshire but the area that beats it all for me is the Lake District which James has 'got it to perfection' in my opinion.

All my loose and framed prints are hand printed using the very latest archival pigment inks and the finest quality professional media that gives my prints a quality look and feel that will last a lifetime. 

All the prints are signed on the front. A neat white border surrounds the printed image allowing easy mounting or framing. Please note loose prints are posted in a sturdy card tube wrapped in acid free tissue paper. Please take care when unpacking your loose print and be mindful of scratching the ink on the paper.

My prints can also be professionally printed onto Aluminium and Canvas.

All my framed prints are professionally mounted and framed by a certified Picture framer. Attention to details and personal care are used with the best materials to present my images the best possible way. 

I offer two frame designs, Solid Oak and Satin Black Hardwood, these materials compliment my collection best and fit in with most light or dark décor.

Delivery Information 

All my loose prints are shipped in a sturdy card postal tube. Framed prints and canvases are shipped wrapped in bubble wrap and carefully packed in a custom designed cardboard box. I aim to deliver within 2-7 days of receiving your order depending on the order contents and quantity, prints are usually printed and posted next day, larger framed/canvases can take 5-10 days. The price of delivery is added to your order at the checkout stage.

Satisfaction Guarantee

Any items that arrive damaged may be returned for a 100% refund or replacement. If this occurs, please contact me immediately with the status of your goods, I will need to see a photo of the damaged item and the packaging. I will process the refund or replacement as soon as I receive the returned items. If the damage was the shipper's fault, I will reimburse you for the shipping too so please save a receipt and send it to me for a full refund of the order plus any shipping costs you incur. Please refuse delivery if the item appears damaged on arrival.
