Loughrigg Fell is a relatively low lying fell but given it stands alone you get a decent view in all directions from the Summit.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1012\" title=\"loughrigg-fell\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell-700x233.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell-700x233.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell-150x49.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell-300x99.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell.jpg 940w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve walked up Loughrigg Fell several times from both Pelter Bridge at the foot of Rydal Water and the National Trust Car Park on the A591.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell-1-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-811\" title=\"Rydal Water\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/loughrigg-fell-1-2.jpg\" alt=\"Rydal Water view\" width=\"520\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Starting from Pelter Bridge is a pleasant route which takes you along the side of Rydal Water with fine views towards Nab Scar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7818-308.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-812\" title=\"Rydal Water with Nab Scar\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7818-308.jpg\" alt=\"Rydal Water with Nab Scar\" width=\"520\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have a Greetings Card of the above <a title=\"Lake District Greetings Cards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\">Rydal Photograph<\/a> available in my Shop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7768-258.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-813\" title=\"Rydal Water Shore\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7768-258.jpg\" alt=\"Rydal Water Shore\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/grasmere-pano3-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-814\" title=\"Grasmere form Loughrigg Terrace\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/grasmere-pano3-3.jpg\" alt=\"Grasmere form Loughrigg Terrace\" width=\"520\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you follow the path around Rydal Water which leads to Loughrigg Terrace fantastic views of Grasmere and Helm Crag over Grasmere Village come into view.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7947-437.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-817\" title=\"Loughrigg Fell ascent\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7947-437.jpg\" alt=\"Loughrigg Fell ascent\" width=\"467\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A well built path leads upwards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7935-425.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-816\" title=\"Helm Crag over Grasmere\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7935-425.jpg\" alt=\"Helm Crag over Grasmere\" width=\"520\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Helm Crag and Steel Fell above Grasmere, with Dunmail Raise to the right. The main road from Grasmere to Keswick.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7937-427.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-818\" title=\"Grasmere and surrounding fells\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7937-427.jpg\" alt=\"Grasmere and surrounding fells\" width=\"520\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The high fells to the East of Grasmere Seat Sandal, Fairfield and Great Rigg.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7940-430.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-819\" title=\"Grasmere and Eastern Fells\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7940-430.jpg\" alt=\"Grasmere and Eastern Fells\" width=\"520\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m quite drawn to this view. The openness and scale is quite something. On a clear day such as this, with fairly low side lighting you really get a feel for the terrain. Seat Sandal, Fairfield and Great Rigg, Heron Pike and Nab Scar above Rydal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7997-487.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-820\" title=\"Grasmere \" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7997-487.jpg\" alt=\"Grasmere \" width=\"467\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Western shore of Grasmere.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7998-488.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-821\" title=\"Grasmere Weir\" src=\"https:\/\/jamesbellphotography.files.wordpress.com\/2011\/02\/img_7998-488.jpg\" alt=\"Grasmere Weir\" width=\"467\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Grasmere&#8217;s Eastern shore with the Weir in the foreground. You can just about make out the main road in between the trees at Baneriggs.
