There is a very famous Ullswater Jetty photograph by Mel Allen that has been around for many years. It&#8217;s a classic Lake District shot. Like them or loath them Jetty shots work. People relate to them and the peace and tranquility they offer. We can all stand at the foot of a jetty and see an amazing view.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The challenge with this shot as with any you take that are influenced by other artists is to make it your own, simply copying another print or trying to reproduce that is in itself simply lack of creative input in my mind. I wanted to capture something different but until I was in the landscape I wasn&#8217;t quite sure how I&#8217;d do it.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Amazing light over Kirkstone Pass.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/blog\/print-of-the-week\/amazing-light-kirkstone-pass\">As I have previously mentioned<\/a> the weather on this trip was awful. Persistent rain every day and for 10 mornings I had visited this spot to capture what I hoped would be my attempt at a Lake District classic. By the end of the week and fitting to the conditions of the week I was presented with a window of opportunity. No more than 10 minutes. The sky was wonderfully red as the sun slowly rose. I managed to capture this shot along with a few others and what I like about this shot is the contrast between the hope of a new day in the sky and its reflection in the relative calm of the water but Place Fell and Silver Point opposite are in stark dark contrast as a timely reminder things weren&#8217;t all that rosy. Indeed within 10 minutes <a title=\"Amazing Ullswater photography prints to buy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesbellphotography.co.uk\/ullswater-prints\">Ullswater<\/a> was covered in a blanket of murk. So here&#8217;s the result of standing at this jetty for 10 mornings in a row. This being the only dry day for 10 minutes at least, but that&#8217;s all I needed.<\/p>\n<p>Prints are available on the link below right.
