At the head of the valley the road steeply climbs up a 25% gradient to Blea Tarn. You get amazing views over the valley and the surrounding fells from this location.<\/p>\n<p>Recently I stayed in Langdale for the evening and after a visit to Blea Tarn I took this shot of the Mickelden valley below Bowfell and the Langdale Pikes.
