I first heard of Tilberthwaite when my Religious Education Teacher at school used to bang on about how great it was for wild camping and bothying with his students on the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. I visited with my camera for the first time four years ago back in 2014<\/a> it was a horrendous day, soaking wet and grey. Well, today was at least dry so I headed out with the kids in search of some exploration amoungs the quarries.<\/p>\n

On my first visit<\/a> I was immediately drawn to the sheer rock faces that surround these old quarries and I promised myself I’d return in better conditions to make what I felt are some abstract images. I had a similar vision from my time at Hodge Close Quarry where I captured an image showing the details of the rock which one print buyer has called “Real Art”. Today, it was my intention to capture more images of that nature to compliment my Lake District Art Prints. Here’s how I go on.<\/p>\n
