Stream – Day 3

It has been very wet for the last few days and my visit to the little stream as featured in my previous two blogs is like a whole new place. The sheer volume of water tumbling through this place is much higher than I’ve seen in my previous shoots. The calming little stretch of water is now a raging torrent of white bubbly Lakeland water. It’s great to see how the elements and the environment bring different conditions for us Landscape Photographers. My aim of capturing the calm waters was not possible today, however it is good to see the change.

I’m back again and today I want to delve a little deeper into this fascinating little stretch of stream. I quite like the luxury of visiting a place then having time away and being able to go back again and put into practice things Ive learnt or visions that have developed in my mind. I guess that is one of the benefits of Landscape Photography in the Lake District, its a relatively small place so getting about and investing time in a location locally to you isn’t a huge task. So, here are my efforts from day 2 of this little slice of calm.

This time from a location closer to home in-between Coniston and Skelwith Bridge. My plan for today was to revisit a location I first photographed last year on the way to Hodge Close Quarry. As with my images from the stream on the Honister Pass I was keen to spend a little time here, explore the local area and focus my energies on this small stretch of stream where I believe a nice image is just waiting to be captured.
