Above Tarn Hows for sunset

As regular readers of my Lake District Landscape Photography blog will have worked out by now, I’m chasing a certain shot from above Tarn Hows. I’ve tried Sunsets, Sunrises. Grey days and Clear days. Tonight however was my first Fire Night, named from the images captured above Coniston Old Man for obvious reasons.

Regardless of how many times I visit one location I am always amazed at how each time can be different if you look….

A fierce Sunset behind the Old Man of Coniston.

The Summit Cairns clearly visible along with a lone figure descending the Old Man…See below.

The 400mm Lens and the 50 million pixels of my new setup really bring out the details in these Landscapes. See below for a 100% crop. Not bad for a handheld shot in low light.

100% Crop of the Old Man of Coniston Summit with Summit Cairn, Trig Point and a Lone Hiker….
