Isle of Skye – Fairy Pools – Day 7

The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye are a pleasant cascading collection of clear pools with an easy going path running from the Glenbrittle Forestry Commission Car Park up to the magnificent Sgurr an Fheadain. This being my only real physical activity of this trip it was a pleasant and easy going stroll, obviously with lots of stops to make photographs of this beautiful landscape.

This is one of the main pools where people swim.

The water is amazingly clear here.

Sgurr an Fheadain at the head of the water.

Boulder Cauldron

The water loos so inviting. Very cold however.

Treated to a brief spell of Sunshine.

Magnificent views up to Sgurr an Fheadain.

Autumn at the Fairy Pools.

Looking down the Glen Brittle valley towards the Sea. Time to head home now if I’m going to catch the last of the light at Elgol.

The magnificent Blavin. As Ive passed this line of trees Ive thought they’d make a great image with Blavin behind. Maybe in more interesting lighting there is a nice shot to be had here.

I arrived back at Elgol as the sun had just set but not wishing to waste an opportunity I headed down to the beach. I’m glad I did as this different light made for what I believe are my most interesting images form Elgol Beach. Just goes to show you can never give up, never quit and there is always something to be seen if you are prepared to look.

I really like the blue hues in these images form Elgol Beach.

Another fine day on Skye, my last full day in fact. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day for a safe journey home…

I’ve made a small selection of my Isle of Skye Landscape Photographs available as framed Prints on this link.
