Persistent rain every day and for 10 mornings I had visited this spot to capture what I hoped would be my attempt at a Lake District classic. By the end of the week and fitting to the conditions of the week I was presented with a window of opportunity. No more than 10 minutes. The sky was wonderfully red as the sun slowly rose. I managed to capture this shot along with a few others and what I like about this shot is the contrast between the hope of a new day in the sky and its reflection in the relative calm of the water but Place Fell and Silver Point opposite are in stark dark contrast as a timely reminder things weren’t all that rosy. Indeed within 10 minutes Ullswater was covered in a blanket of murk. So here’s the result of standing at this jetty for 10 mornings in a row. This being the only dry day for 10 minutes at least, but that’s all I needed. […]
