The Westmoralnd Cairn in Mono
A Mono take on the famous Westmorland Cairn on the southern edge of the iconic Great Gable. The cairn was built in 1876 by two Brothers called ‘Westmorland’ they built the Cairn to mark what they thought the finest mountain viewpoint in the area. Wasdale and Wastwater are clearly bathed in sunlight in the foreground and you can see the North sea and the Isle of Man in the distance to the right above Seatallen.
